if i had a time machine

Prompt for the day: If you had a time machine would you travel to the past, or the future? What would be your purpose for going to that time? What goals would you set for your trip?

I feel this is a butterfly effect question. At first I wanted to go back to the past to tell my younger self to be more confident, and pursue any goal relentlessly. I probably would have gone to school in California, or omit higher education all together/go to trade school as I shared in my previous blog post. I only applied to 2 schools for undergraduate - UW and Gonzaga. The university I really wanted to go to was Scripps College. I don’t want to regret anything, or be anxious about the future. I have zero desire to change the past as I can see from various fictional depictions that is NOT the way to go.

From purely a curiosity standpoint I would either want to see the Library of Alexandria, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, or observe Ancient Greece/Rome. I would not want anyone to see me though for what I feel are obvious reasons as I am a woman, and wear corrective lenses. I would be dead in a hole somewhere, or worse. I have had an obsession with Greek mythology, and had a Greek mythology encyclopedia I would read for fun all the time. Better yet I would use the encyclopedia to look up names I didn’t know. Currently I am reading, A Touch of Darkness, which is a retelling of Persephone and Hades. The novel is a bit trite, but a fan of the course material so I am committed.

I have been talking about how I am so excited to go to Coachella next weekend, but now I am getting cold feet. My anxiety is through the roof. I am trying to not let it get the best of me. Fingers crossed, wish me luck y’all.
